This is a great series and it looks like it will be a great season with the new rivalry between Mike & Harvey, so there's a lot to enjoy here. I'm glad to see Jessica getting more of a life too.

Besides how great this new season looks, iTunes is beating Amazon Instant Video on price for Season 4 by a very significant margin. Especially as a Prime member, you're going to need to offer me better than a 4% discount to get my business on this Amazon.

I went into this movie feeling the effects in 300 were a little over the top and while they didn't ruin the movie for me, I really wanted them to tone this down in Rise of an Empire.

Thankfully, they did!

This movie has a semi parallel timeline to the original and but, it is what the Athens Navy was doing during the same time frame.

The hero in this film is Themistocles and he is more the clever tactician who can fight whereas Leonidas was more the Gladiator whose discipline made him a king of Sparta. Think of this more like Kirk vs Picard where both were great in their own way.

This movie also gives more of the origin of Xerxes and Artemisia as we learn their backstory and why their vengeance is aimed at Greece.

Overall, I really liked the story and it felt like a much more complete package than the original. I liked the strategic design to the fight scenes and this is honestly the first of these Greco-Roman Empire movies this year that I've really appreciated.

For those that are concerned with the content...

There's a pretty wild Sex scene in the movie, several exposed breasts and other body parts both male and female. Also there's a ton of very graphic killings (duh).

If you liked the original, you will love this one and if you were just okay with the original, you still might love this movie.

Back in LONDON, that is! And Jack is as mean and aggressive as ever. (Well, at least he doesn't obviously kill anyone right away in this season opener--maybe they're just "flesh wounds?"

Beware! If you employed by CTU, the odds are nearly 100% that one of the following will happen:

▼ You will be accused of being a traitor, OR

▼ You ARE a traitor, OR

▼ You will be tortured to give up information you don't have, OR

▼ You will be tortured to give up information you DO have, OR

▼ You will be killed by a terrorist, OR

▼ You will kill someone because you ARE a terrorist.

▼ You will become a "rogue agent."

In this season opener, three of the above nasties take place within 15 minutes.

► My biggest regret for this show--WHY DID YOU KILL OFF EDGAR STILES (played by Louis Lombardi)?? I keep thinking that sad scene many seasons back was just a hoax, and that Edgar was not really poisoned by that gas released in CTU HQ. Well, if he IS coming back, you certainly made his apparent death look realistic. I mean, having him gasping for air, whilst everyone watched from the secret room. (Trivia--Edgar was just the 3rd CTU main-cast member to be killed off.)

Well, I don't want to spoil anything for anybody--but is it possible that Edgar is back? Maybe he had a secret breathing mask under the floor, or just held his breath for a really long time? Or something? Well, okay, okay, Edgar's not back. But don't worry, you'll still see that smirk from Chloe. Just don't try to tell her how to do her job.

√ Highly Recommend!

It was a LONG wait for season 3. There are so few quality shows these days that when I find one like this 10 or 13 episodes and then a 9 month wait is too long. The White Warrior picked up right were the Season 2 finale left off. This episode was fast paced and did not disappoint. The episode flew by and left me wanting more, more, more. We welcomed back Walt and company and this cast is just stellar! Casting was just so spot on. We also got to see some supporting players that we don't get to see often enough like Jacob Nighthorse, Mathias, Barlow Connally, and the beautiful New Mexico landscape subbing as Wyoming. The Cinematography on this show is so good. Even the casting on the supporting players and guest stars is stellar. We get to look forward to guest stars Graham Greene and Nia Peeples (Walker Texas Ranger) this season amongst others I'm sure. We got some answers to some of the mysteries from last season but one of the things that makes this show so good is it also brought up more questions. This is a show that you have to pay attention to when watching as little clues that are easily missed are scattered throughout that you may not realize have significance until several episodes later. This show makes you think and is not mindless fluff as so many shows are these days. If you have not watched this show yet give it a try I think you will be surprised how good it is. Start with season 1. A modern day procedural with a western flare with the wide open spaces of the western landscape as a backdrop. If The White Warrior is any indication this should be an amazing season. This show just keeps getting better!

Love the series since the start. I appreciate that we get characters . I believe the 4% discount for a season's pass while iTunes is giving us the entire season for $24.95. iTunes price is for HD/1080P is going to render Amazon little revenue.

(Amazon I am strongly urging you to be competitive. I like doing business with you. There are plenty of DVRs out there as well as iTunes)

Suits on the whole gives you characters you wish to know about and they have managed to cover most demographics with ethics and personalities that appeal one side and may displease another section.

On the whole you will enjoy your time watching this series.

Theatrical review.

For me director/writer Wes Anderson has been an acquired taste. Certainly the animated "Fantastic Mr. Fox" (2009) and "Moonrise Kingdom" (2012) have become personal favorites. This film has joined the list of brilliant filmmaking. Part 1930's Keystone Cops, part romance, part mystery, part thriller and part about anything else, Anderson has created a world he clearly enjoys but may be a bit strange to the rest of us. Using fictitious settings, characters and evil empires he tosses in terra cotta and other pastels to brighten an otherwise place of increasing darkness in the world.

The time is the 1930's (with flashbacks and flash-forwards) and the setting is a country high in the mountains of Eastern Europe. M. Gustave H is the concierge at the upscale titled hotel. For all practical purposes, he runs the place. His services are readily available especially to the elderly widows that seek him out. He is always accommodating and fairly suggests gender is not an issue. One of his favorite clients is the rich and powerful Madame D. (an unrecognizable Tilda Swinton) who at 84 "isn't the oldest he's...uh serviced" he announces. Under his tutelage is "lobby boy" Zero (Tony Revolori). When interviewed for the job, Gustave asks, "Why do you want to be a lobby boy?" "Who wouldn't" Zero responds.

Zero is played in later life by F. Murray Abraham who is telling the story to a young writer played by Jude Law. When Madame D. dies, a valuable painting is left to Gustave much to the chagrin of her son Dmitri (Adrien Brody) and her 3 ugly daughters. When Gustave, who along with Zero have gone to the funeral, realizes Dmitri isn't going to let him leave the castle with the painting, he decides to just take it, which leads them off into the wintery slopes.

Anderson fills up the story with an assortment of regulars including Jeff Goldblum as Madame D.'s executor, Harvey Keitel as a prison inmate, Edward Norton as a military police detective, Saoirse Ronan as Zero's girlfriend complete with a large raspberry birthmark on her cheek, "shaped like Mexico" as well as Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, Owen Wilson and Bob Balaban as fellow concierges. What is so wonderful about this movie is the silliness of course, but also a nostalgic look back at a bygone era before storm troopers and Ruskies took over that part of the world. Anderson and his wonderful set designers came up with an unusual but satisfying look at the period. Often using miniatures, it just looks great. The film revolves around Fiennes great performance as Gustave. He spits out the words placed there by Anderson with a sense of confidence, breeding and intellect. And he's funny as hell. Highly recommended.
