This is a good lawyer show. There's a lot more lawyer talk in it than in other lawyer shows, and although there is romance, all the romance is between lawyers and politicians.

The first episode of season two is excellent! I watched the first season and so far the plot line is even better in the second season. If you liked "Charmed" and "Salem" you will like this show.

"The Strain" has potential to be an excellent summer horror series. It may be tempting to want to compare it to "The Walking Dead," but that's really like comparing apples and oranges. Just the atmosphere alone between the two shows is completely different. If you view "The Strain" expecting the same gravitas and bleakness of the Walking Dead, you may be disappointed. "The Strain" has a much campier, "fun" approach that tends to harken back to monster movies from the 1980's. Many of Guillermo Del Toro's movies have a fun, campy atmosphere to them- from the Blade movies, Mimic, the Hellboy films and Pacific Rim. There is a similar campy vibe noticeable in The Strain that will undoubtedly turn away viewers who are looking for more gravitas to their horror.

However, the pilot episode is incredibly entertaining. It's got all the right elements going for it: creepiness, grotesqueness, gore and high production value. There are some scenes that are scary and downright relentless, and will stick with you long after the episode has ended. For those who are tired of watered down vampirism like Twilight or the Vampire Diaries, you may like what Del Toro has in store.

The first episode, which runs over an hour in length, starts slow and introduces us to some of the main characters. It plays out more like a movie than a regular tv show, slowly building in steam as it moves along. I absolutely loved it. I have high hopes for the remainder of the season.

Episode 2: Okay, so am I as thrilled after the second episode as I was with the first? Absolutely! This episode spends more time on developing its central characters. The sense of fun from the first episode has grown a bit darker. It is evident that the show is not going to rush into apocalypse mode, but rather build up to it. Chaos has no erupted yet, but by the deliberate pacing I get the feeling that once chaos does ensue, the show will relish in it like a slow burn. Nothing as gory as the first episode's head-stomping scene, but it definitely ratchets up the seriousness and is more macabre and suspenseful. Overall, a solid second episode.

My one star rating really has nothing to with the show, it's an awesome show that I recommend to every person I meet! My rating is really for Amazon Prime Streaming. Episode 4 was REALLY late and now Episode 8 is nowhere to be found. From what I was able to gather, although I may be wrong, it's a contract issue. Why would you even offer your customers a show if you didn't have the contract worked out? Amazon is by no means the cheapest way to watch a show but I still went with it for the convenience. iTunes also has the show and from what others have said they have had no problems with it so it you haven't already purchased it here, or even if you have, you may want to try that instead. Waiting a couple days for the show would not be that big of deal if it wasn't for the price, you kind of figure when you pay almost $100 a year for your Prime membership and then on top of that pay for the full season or individual episodes, that they should be delivered in a timely manner. Really hope Amazon can get their act together so I can continue to watch my favorite show!

Love the show but don't understand why the latest episode is still not available for viewing!

How long does it take normally? Usually I can get it the day after it airs but that time has come and gone and it's still not open for viewing.

Great ! I don't know what others are complaining about. So what if it's derived from a Swedish production. The acting and writing are unique and excellent. Diane Kruger is refreshingly quirky. I've learned more Mexican Spanish than from all of High School.

One wonders why it took so long to tell the story of the three Bielski brothers, who managed to save the lives of 1200 Jews during the Nazi Holocaust in World War II. My personal answer is that they didn't have anyone near the caliber of Daniel Craig to play the part of Tuvia.

The story opens with the Bielski brothers Tuvia (Craig) and Zus (Liev Schreiber) returning to the family farm to discover the Germans killed their parents. They find their younger brother, Asael (Jamie Bell) hiding from the slaughter in a cellar.

They decide to go to the forest to hide out. It's initially pure happenstance that they run into other refugees, but as the story progresses, they have a community from philosophers to warriors.

It's fascinating to see the community grow and the harsh realities of living under the Nazi radar. The images in this film will haunt me as strongly as the original newsreel "Let my People Go" did when I saw it in junior high.

In my opinion, "Defiance" is one of the top films of this year and I hope it earns the awards it deserves. The film is excellent for students of Jewish history, psychology, and community development. It's well worth full price in the theatre and adding to your collection.
